Yahoo Loses Search Deal with Google

Things just keep getting worse and worse for Yahoo don't they?

After botched buyout negotiations with Microsoft sent Yahoo stocks spiraling downward, and the announcement that they would be laying off some 1500 employees, another clump of Yahooligans hits the fan: Google is walking away too.

Due to litigation concerns from the Department of Justice, Google has announced a pullout from negotiations with Yahoo over an online search and advertising partnership. This may of course make Yahoo's appeal to Microsoft that much greater, though for all the wrong reasons.

Despite being kicked to the curb by the tech world's big boys, the only way that Yahoo stands a chance is to drop the underdog mentality. Everything is so backward, and the company is losing focus everyday on what it is that they do. Yahoo's business plan is like me trying to develop the nicest beach-front property in Nebraska.

Yahoo needs to get out of the search business and take a look at what it is they've become over the last decade as Google has dominated that niche. With so many positive moves into the world of online real-estate, why not just focus on developing those? Most importantly, why isn't Yahoo ADVERTISING THEM!

I'm amazed at how much awesome stuff I find on Yahoo all the time, but it's always a journey to find it. Most stuff I stumble upon on accident.
