"We should hound them in their supermarket, we should hound them in the ball park, we should hound them everywhere they are. We should make fun of them and we should point fingers at them and we should tell them that you have no shame."
Tough words from Jim Cramer, and AIG CEO Edward M. Liddy isn't letting them go. In a letter printed in the Wall Street Journal, Liddy blasted Cramer, writing "Those comments are outrageous. I demand they be retracted and that you apologize to AIG's employees... it is way out of bounds to incite people to confront and harass other AIG employees - hard working, dedicated people who are running good businesses and are committed to our success."
Mr. Cramer, how could you? How could you be so direct and confrontational to a company as pained as AIG? I am appalled, those men had to go on vacation because of the stress that pundits like you put them under! I on the other hand would never do such a thing, I would never ever ever mock, those hard working individuals. And you can quote me on that.
In his own defense, Jim Cramer did apologize for making it sound as though he was attacking the little guys at AIG when he meant only the old management and CEO. Maybe I should make that distinction too before a letter appears in the New York Times calling for my apology.
HA! Delusions of grandeur!
