Middle Class Squeeze Continues from The Big Picture - This is so important to understand for socio-economic reasons and for political reasons. Yes, Americans don't save any more. But, don't blame the middle class for funding their annual budget shortfalls with credit card debt and now with home equity debt. After all, despite the lies about inflation coming from the government, the biggest and most important expenses continue to outpace real wages which have gone backwards over the past 25 years. These "big ticket" expenses include: One's house, household expenses, energy, college education, and healthcare.
