Don't Mess With TaxesTaxes. Sure you hate 'em, but you're stuck with 'em. Either that, or you're stuck in a federal jail cell. We'll make your tax tasks less, well, taxing, and help cure your personal finance ills with regular dosesof money news, notices, tips, commentary, insight and humor, courtesy of Texas journalist Kay Bell. |
Naked travel?
As the world's horrors pile up every day, we have to decide whether to cope by laughing or crying. I'm going with the belly laugh myself. I'm not trying to downplay the seriousness that surrounds us. I'm just trying to keep from curling up in a fetal ball of fear and frustration.
In that effort to keep on keeping on as our overheating planet goes crazier, from the Mideast to Mel Gibson, I thank God everyday for Internet users' irreverent takes on news events.
Case in point, the foiled liquid terrorist plot in the U.K. The Consumerist provides a firsthand report of one airport's "shampoo and Dasani blockade." It's informative, with that bit of sarcastic bite that's expected from bloggers.
But it gets better. Some of the reader comments are just too freaking funny! There's the guy who longs for Baby Quaaludes and the hairspray spritzing fireballer. I totally lost it, though, when homerjay, bless him, offered his prediction of future flights:
"... we're inching closer and closer to naked, no-carry-on air travel ..."
OMG! Flying has always been a gigantic pain, but can you image the horror of being stuck in the middle seat between au naturel tax cheat Richard Hatch and the ugly naked guy from "Friends?"
Trying ... desperately ... to ... blind ... my ... mind's ... eye ... !
