38 In April?!?!?
What the heck is going on here? It's 2:15 on an April afternoon and it's 37 degrees outside! Even worse, it's raining.
I know I shouldn't be whining. It's snowing on family and friends in the Panhandle. It's rain, not sleet. And the local weathermen and women say we're supposed to be back in the upper 70s by the end of next week.
But even our relatively minor weather woes are not fun.
OK, it was nice to stay hunkered under blankets and sleep a little later because there was no bright sun this morning to wake us. As you can see from this photo taken about 1/2 an hour ago, looking out toward the river (that little silver sliver at the bottom left of the picture) and hills visible from our bedroom deck, there's no sun at all today.
So we're house-bound today. I am at least taking care of some personal tasks, like running the self-cleaning cycle of our oven. The smell is awful, but the added warmth helps keep the heater, which we turned back on last night, from running so much.
Maybe I'll just make some hot chocolate and finally start doing our taxes.
Weather whine update: It's 3:20 p.m. and is now sleeting.
