Selling PNRA and ERTS. No Buys. Revisiting ETF's

I will be selling the positions in PNRA and ERTS tomorrow. No new buys.

I wanted to revisit the ETF list I published on September 5th , 2006. As some of you know I have a ETF trend following script that kicks in when the market is moving upward. It then hops aboard those ETF's that are outputed based on a simple scan I use. A look back at that list of names will give you a good idea the ones I jumped on. Typically I look to add a small positions initially and add on to these during weakness. At the end of August I gave you exactly the themes that were being seen by my scans. Europe, Emerging Markets, and Natural Resources.

That list had :

EWW
IAU
FXI
GLD
IIH
EWZ
ILF
ADRE
EWG
VWO
EWD
EEM
EWY
EWO
PGJ

Now which do you think I was adding too? Gold (GLD, IAU) had fallen off the list pretty quickly. Check the charts on those. So certainly not Gold and it's cohorts.. But the rest of the list has been extremely strong. Emerging Markets and Europe won out with a tad of tech thrown in with IIH.

Today's list looks like this (look for those that remained from the earlier list):

IIH
EWP
EWW
FXI
EWD
EWS
ILF
ADRE
EWZ
VWO
EEM
EWO

It's a smaller list and again Europe and Emerging Markets. These were the plays I have used to play this very strong uptrend with ETF's. Do I add new to these positions now? No, I will look for new symbols to kick in or if these remain on the list, adding a bit here and there as weakness hits these particular symbols. But by the list being smaller, this points to a bit of of caution, an early warning if you will. Definitely time to take some profits but also try to ride these ponies for all they give.

Have a Great Night!
