DayveJohnson on the MarketsPosting my thoughts and trades as I take on the challenges that the financial markets will bring. Especially suited for end of day traders who also have a full-time job. Hopefully my years of experience can be a valuable asset to the trading blog universe. And please do your own research, I am not responsible for your personal trading decisions |
Selling AMAT, SBAC, SEPR. Adding LVLT. Some Photos...

Well I will be selling everything. Nice profits in all of the recent swing trades aided by an upwardly biased market. I will be adding LVLT to the portfolio tomorrow. I usually exclude stocks under 10 bucks but my pickings are slim after today's rally.
Rolling to all cash in the swing portfolio has it's obvious pitfalls - the main one being its going to take a week or so to load back up and if the market skyrockets I will be left behind. But with the market at it's current level a holding pattern in this general area to a full-fledged pullback (no way - that does not happen any more) is probably in order.
Last year I started tracking the swing portfolio on November 9th, and I plan on doing a full review of the year including the ups and downs it faced. Having handily outperformed all the major indices by a wide margin (on the order of 5 times the Nasdaq). I think this analysis will be something beneficial to traders trying to stick to a system - and why. So you can look forward to that once the final trades are tallied after November 8th.
It is starting to get cold here in Connecticut and those days when you can go outside after trading and enjoy some daylight will becoming fewer and fewer, especially with the clocks going back this weekend. Winter can be brutal here but the crisp fall air is glorious right now. We have the good fortune to live on a farm here in CT and the back meadows are just perfect for a brisk walk and a chance to see the animals that graze in the meadow. I took some snapshots along the way. That's my daughter you see with the miniature donkeys (the same daughter who tonight informed me she has a boyfriend). Gonna miss her being daddy's little girl now that she is a freshman in High School, but along the way she turned into quite a fabulous and special young lady.
