No Sells. Adding ALTR. The Playoffs Begin!

I will be adding ALTR to the swing portfolio tomorrow. This will give me 3 holdings consisting of MLNM, SNDK, and ALTR. That's quite a high beta portfolio, so a pullback from here would probably adversely affect those positions.
With this in mind and the recent narrow range in the markets - a volatility breakout to the downside might provide me with an opportunity to add a bit of a defensive short. Not net short mind you but something to ease the pain of those high beta positions as the market pulls back.
I will have to see how the day goes on but it is something to consider. Of course if the market were to continue it's narrow range or breakout to the upside I would pleasantly go with that with my existing long positions.

On a side note the Baseball season is over and I am looking forward to the Yankees quest for the World Series title. I don't know about their pitching but that lineup is truly something to behold. Playoffs start Tuesday and I have a feeling I might be having a few late nights the next couple weeks. As I just looked at the headlines it appears the Yanks will be playing the Tigers as they fell into second place and the Twins won the central division. Could be a tough matchup........
