Survey: What do you think about credit card fees

Credit card fees are making headlines across the country this week. A Government Accountability Office (GAO) report last week found that credit card issuers are not clearly disclosing fees and rates to consumers. Credit card issuers "buried important information in text, failed to group and label related material, and used small typefaces."

The report also highlights the fact that credit card fees have risen sharply over the last ten years. Credit card late fees have increased to a standard $25-$40 range from an average of $10-$15. And once you make a late payment, your interest rate can skyrocket to above 30% a year.

While credit cards are certainly becoming more expensive, they still remain relatively inexpensive for consumers to use. A $1,000 balance on a credit card with an 18% rate will only cost you about $100 in interest over 12 months.  What do you think about credit cards? Vote in our survey today:
