Funny Money Friday: Astrology And Your Credit Score Horoscope

Money doesn&39;t have to be boring! Each week, CreditBloggers.com takes a look at the lighter side of the personal finance world in a series called Funny Money Friday.

Credit scores can seem almost like magical or mystical beings sometimes. Most of us don&39;t really understand what causes our credit scores to go up or down. It would be easy to attribute credit score changes to destiny, or even to the stars. Which got me thinking this morning about the connection between someone&39;s astrological sign and their credit score.

So for Funny Money Friday this week, we are going to take a highly unscientific look at how your "stars" might impact your "scores." Consider this your credit scoring horoscope!

Aries -(March 21 to April 20)  You are assertive, competitive and intemperate. You are likely to check your credit scores, see that they are lower than you thought and launch into a massive credit improvement campaign. Be  careful! Impetuously closing and opening credit accounts can damage your score.

Taurus - (April 21 - May 21) You are cautious, patient and possessive. You probably have excellent credit scores from years of slowly building a history of responsible credit use. You avoid unnecessary applications for credit and are a very low risk borrower.

Gemini - (May 22 - June 21) You are curious, intelligent and emotional. You are prone to researching ways to boost your credit scores but probably don&39;t pay that much attention to your credit overall. You may become a "credit geek" but only when there is a major purchase in the near future.

Cancer - (June 22 - July 23) You are protective, moody and nurturing. You probably don&39;t worry about your credit scores very much, preferring to focus on other savings and budgeting goals. However, if something goes wrong with your credit you would suddenly become very interested in how to improve.

Leo - (July 24 - August 23) You are passionate, bossy and dramatic. You are not likely to accept having a bad credit score. If faced with damaged credit, you&39;ll try to dispute and argue your way out of it as soon as possible. You often call your credit card companies to negotiate your APR&39;s.

Virgo - (August 24 - September 23) You are analytical, critical and fussy. You are very interested in how credit scores work and how you can work the system. You know that there are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to credit and take time to research the real story. You probably have very good credit scores.

Libra - (September 24 - October 23) You are open-minded, social and a good partner. Credit card issuers probably love you for your willingness to apply for new offers. Your credit scores may be damaged as you open and close new retail store cards and other credit accounts.

Scorpio - (October 24 - November 22) You are controlling, skeptical and obsessive. You probably have perfect credit scores. You sign up for credit monitoring programs and track your credit score changes very closely. You negotiate rates and don&39;t take "no" for an answer. (Full disclosure: I&39;m a Scorpio).

Sagittarius - (November 23 - December 21) You are philosophic, adventurous and scattered. Your credit scores may go up and down as you try new ways to boost your credit and finances. One month, you may try paying off all your debts. The next month, you try disputing old records. Your instability may mean that you are a higher risk borrower.

Capricorn - (December 22 - January 20) You are cautious, authoritative and cunning. Believe it or not, your credit scores may not be as high as possible. You are likely to avoid using credit cards and loans, instead preferring to save money by paying cash. Credit avoidance could cause you to have a "thin file" and possibly no credit score.

Aquarius - (January 21 - February 19) You are are progressive, eccentric and objective. Your humanitarian nature may have gotten you into credit trouble by wanting to help others out with co-signing or lending money. Your credit scores are probably not watched that closely and may fluctuate.

Pisces - (February 20 - March 20) You are accepting, feeling and neglectful. Your artistic temperament may lead you to forget an occasional credit card payment. These occasional late payments cause your credit score to be lower but not to the point where you are really concerned.

How accurate is your horoscope? (probably not very accurate, seeing as how I know nothing about astrology!) Share your comments and ephemeris in the comments section below. Happy Friday!
