Consumer debt increases exceed expectations

Did you get into debt in June? If you did, you&39;re definitely not alone. US consumers took on $10.3 billion in new debts during June according to the Federal Reserve. This is almost double the debts added in May and defied expectations. According to MarketWatch, economists had expected only a $3.4 billion increase.
Consumer credit debt is now at $2.186 trillion! That is $7,500 for every man, woman and child in the United States! Yikes!
This news, combined with slow job growth and higher unemployment, means it is likely that the Fed Rate won&39;t increase again this month. What do you think?
