Find The Dead Giveaway On This Phishing

Posted on 01/04/2007 06:21 AM | Link | Post Comment
Read the following Phishing attempt that is making the rounds in your e-mail (please don't fall for it, I found it on the Tax web site):

From: Department of Finance Sent: Wednesday, December 20, 2006 7:28 AM To: undisclosed-recipients Subject: Notification - Please Read This .

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $112.80. Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 6-9 days in order to process it.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons. For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.

To access the form for your tax refund, please click here.

Regards,

Did you catch what the dead giveaway is? Think about it, when was the last time your tax refund showed up in 6-9 days? Come on guys, if you are going to try to fool us, be believable. I would have believed 4-6 weeks, but 6-9 days? Come on guys! Unless their system is more efficient, then maybe we should hire them?

Don't fall for this fraudulant Phishing attempt!!! --C8j

(No someone at work pointed this one out, I don't usually check the tax web site that much)
