Theater District To Get New Building That Fits In Perfectly
Story in the Herald today tells the story a guy who was rebuffed in his attempt to put huge vinyl ad signs on a building off Cambridge Street, off Beacon Hill.
Meanwhile, across town, the city plans to put up huge "Times Square"-style ads on a new building going up in the Theater District.
His question? Why is it okay for this in one part of town, and not in the other?
I don't think the guy has an argument. The city designates certain areas of the city for certain things ... it's why I can get a lap dance in Chinatown and not downstairs at the Eagle (?!). It's zoning, and it's neighborhood reaction / opposition.
Here's what's proposed for the Theater District. (WTF???)

How ... awkward?
