So, what, am I the last to have heard of this idea?

The Law of Attraction is an idea that is widespread in New Age and New Thought philosophy. It posits to never dwell on the negative, as the metaphysical principle of life is embodied in a "law of attraction': "you get what you think about, your thoughts determine your destiny."

Of course, no idea is a good one unless Oprah Winfrey has chimed in on it, which apparently she did, on yesterday afternoon's show (I missed it).

Although the law(s) are usually listed as "Ask", "Believe", and "Receive", this blogger has listed five steps:

1. Identify what you don’t want.
2. Identify what you do want.
3. Feel what it feels like to have it.
4. Clear all opposing beliefs.
5. Allow it to come to you.

If you want to learn more about the concept, there's a movie you can watch online, called "The Secret", which explains it (I haven't watched it).

I don't know. I guess it's worth a shot. I think I've had more luck, however, going the George Costanza / SpongeBob route - do the opposite of what you've been doing before. It will undoubtedly bring you success.
