Straw-bale Construction … Huh?
The New York Times has an article today about a lady who built a house out of ... straw.
Okay, that's something I've never heard of ... well, I've heard of it, obviously, but not since my nanny read me stories as an infant.
Apparently, it's not that uncommon?
Straw-bale construction is a building method that uses straw bales as structural elements, insulation, or both. It is commonly used in natural building. It has advantages over some conventional building system because of its cost and easy availability, and its high insulation value.
Alright. But I think it's bizarre.
