The Boston Real Estate BlogI am an independent real estate broker, focused on the residential real estate market in downtown Boston. |
I’ll Pay You $7000 If You Pay Me $10000
I just received this email from another broker:
Compensating 7% To Buyer's Agent for Accepted Offer by 6/17/2007
That's sure to get my attention!
So I took a look at the listing in MLS. Sounds like a good deal for me. It means on this deal, my commission would be around $16,000 instead of $5,800.
But wait, the seller must be upset that he has to pay out so much of his proceeds in commission.
Oh, wait, they also RAISED the sales price today, by $10,000.
Meaning the seller isn't out anything, at the end of the day. (Okay, he's out $200.)
Does this make any sense to anyone?
( ** If by chance it DOES make sense to you, let me know! I definitely need an extra $10,000 this month! I'm sure this place is the ultimate gem! ** )
