Boston Goes Upscale; Two New Luxury Apartment Buildings

Posted on 12/04/2006 20:57 PM | Link | Post Comment

There are very few luxury apartment buildings in the city. The Colonnade apartments ... hmmm, can't think of any others. The Avalon apartments at the Prudential aren't "luxury", in my opinion, although I haven't seen the insides.

We now have a couple new mid-rises/high-rises (over 10 stories), the Archstone-Smith building in the Combat Zone Chinatown, and Trilogy, near Fenway Park.

From the descriptions, it sounds as though Archstone-Smith has the better amenities, which is good, since its location is less than prime.

If you work in Chinatown, the Financial District, or at Tufts Medical, Archstone-Smith is a better location; if you work anywhere else, I think Trilogy would be the better choice, although traffic down in that area makes it very unpleasant, at least 81 days a year.

Apartments start in the $2,000 range, going up to $5,000; hmmm, for that, I can set you up in a "luxury" condo building, dude.
