The SPY and IWM were down again today, but there were a lot of huge upside movers in many Nasdaq stocks today. Some of the Chinese stocks continued to tear higher as did many solar plays, and if you were in the Chinese solar stocks, the gains seemed even easier. It seems like it is getting a little too easy to make money on the long side, not that I’m complaining. When it gets easier to make money I find we are often near a short term reversal area. The best way to trade this type of market is to be in the strong names but be ready to exit at the first signs of weakness. Enjoy the strength while it is here but do not be blind to inevitable pullbacks in the highfliers.
