What Tech Bubble?

Posted on 09/25/2006 16:38:38 | Link | Post Comment
In order for something to burst, it must first be of finite nature. The world of hi-tech is as infinite as your own imagination. What happened a few years ago was simply a drawdown, a shake-out if you will of some very over-priced digital tulips. As infinite and alive as the universe in which it exists, tech simply followed the order of the universe and through natural selection thinned the herd. There was blood in the streets and some very real people lost some very real money, but the bubble never burst, because it never existed. No bubble - No burst. Sorry.

Today, valuations are a bit more realistic. We now understand that hi-tech is no fantasy ball where you can dance all night without paying the band. Are we a wiser investor after this expensive lesson? Wiser yes, but fearful not! Once the PC entered our life, it was forever changed. Life before email? Please... Then there was the cell phone, and the web, and in 5 years we witnessed more technological advances than in the previous five hundred, but for the wonder of it all, it was only the beginning. We do not have a finished product yet, nor will we ever. What we have are hi-tech building blocks. Inventions that have become an integral part of how we work, play, communicate, and live. They are also evolving at such a rapid pace that given a five year glimpse into the future, we might not even recognize them.

This does not mean all beaten down techs are bargains. The herd still needs thinning to make room for a new generation. Our future lies in the hands of those who are embracing that future, not those focused on re-inventing history. Few of us ever dreamed just how greatly the inventions mentioned would impact our lives. We already have a new born technology available today, which will spin our world faster than anything we've encountered. It is upon this rapidly rising star "Broadband Wireless" that I'm hitching my hi-tech wagon. No longer will we sit at a PC to make free calls via VoIP. No longer will we need a desktop or laptop to download our podcasts. That technology will soon conveniently fit right in our pocket. We've been putting dashboards on virtual desktops forever it seems, but the time has arrived to put the desktop on the dashboard. Automobile options will now extend beyond mere paint and interior. You'll be answering probing questions in the dealer’s showroom such as which operating system and browser you’d prefer.

No more walls, no ball and chain. Broadband wireless is creating a brand new info super highway and manufacturers are rushing to develop all the devices that will fill it. Those are the companies that will shape the future, change our lives yet again, and given enough time I'm sure, create the illusion of a bubble even bigger than before. This time however, you have a tremendous advantage staring you right in the face. The tools, analysis, and strategy of some of the world's greatest traders are right at your fingertips, here on Trading Markets. Friend, you're at the right place at the right time to profit from this swiftly arriving revolution and when it does come time to thin the herd again… this time - we'll see it coming.

Tech may boom, but it can never bust.
