Believe it or Not! They still exist...

Take John Mazzuto for example. When we met in December, he had all the ingredients for success. A profitable company, big dreams, small o/s, low float, top notch management, and integrity. But alas, he suffered from a problem that plagues most micro and small cap CEO's, Wall Street didn't know he existed. Even worse, few retail investors even knew he existed.

His business plan wasn't sexy, he had no corporate art collection, and he refused to pay to be listed in the latest edition of Who's Who, the business world's literary response to the WWF. What he did have was passion, drive, integrity (as previously mentioned), and heart... lots of heart. He also had an IR guy, David Zazoff, who impressed me by the complete lack of smoke he blew up my chimney.

Our interview took place December 28, 2005. If you missed it, or better yet, you want to know EXACTLY what I knew when I made one of the best decisions of my investing career, Click Here That day, Industrial Enterprises of America - ILNP, closed @ .14 on volume of 15k shares. Our "Portfolio Builders" are few and far between. We don't "promote" companies, we buy them. We don't trade "Portfolio Builders", we "own" them. Take Mr. Softie for example, (not a Portfolio Builder) beginning with $10k, if you had bought every high and sold every low from day 1, you would have made a LOT of money, but chances are... you're still punching a clock even if it's a virtual one. On the other hand, had you invested your $10k and let it ride, for better for worse, in sickness and in health, etc... work today would simply be a hobby.

Am I preaching "Buy and Hold" here? That went out with the ticker-tape didn't it? For the most part it did, along with integrity, and the gentlemen who possessed it. But I knew I had a winner, so what did I do? I staked my claim on the open market, grabbed my keyboard, and began to tell the heartland all about John and the little company that would, via a humble web page http://cfrn.net/ilnp and the air-waves of CFRN.

Let's fast forward the tape to June of 2006. On June 1st ILNP traded 900k shares @ .81, on June 2nd - 470k @ .83, on June 5th - 192k @ $8.50 per share. Oh, I failed to mention, John did a reverse split to qualify for the Nasdaq or Amex. We should know which exchange in a few days. Now here's my point -

John Mazzuto no longer needs CT.
Institutions are all over him, and for good reason.

But I got a phone call. On the big day when champagne corks were flying high over the new ticker symbol - IEAM , David called me. His comments were direct and to the point. "DeWayne, as you can imagine John is a bit tied up today in meetings, but he insisted that I stop what I was doing and call you." And why might that be I queried?

"He wanted to say THANK YOU!"

Friends, as excited as I am over the wealth that ILNP created for myself, our orphans, our listeners, and our subscribers, it pales in comparison to what I felt at that moment. You see in this business, people have a tendency to be very nice only when you have what they need. However, on rare occasions, you find a John Mazzuto. How rare is it? Only 6 CEO's have managed to find their way into our portfolio.

From December 28 @ .14, through today at a split adjusted price of $8.40, our group is up 500% on ILNP.

The CEO of our top performing Portfolio Builder, Azco Mining - AZMN (up 1400%) will be a guest on the show in the next few weeks. You'll have an opportunity to hear in his voice what I heard in the voice of John Mazzuto that December morn. If you follow this column, you already know where I began investing my money last Friday. You also know that after SLIF, we have FCON on deck. Nothing official yet, but we do have an interview coming, and I will be sharing some very interesting facts with you on tomorrow's show.

We also have a new daily guest. Tune in tomorrow and meet him @ 11:15 AM on CFRN.
