This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting and sharing a round of golf with Jim Merkley from Morgan Stanley. Mr. Merkley comes from an impressive background that includes being named one of Business Journal&8217;s Top 40 Under 40 for 2005! What is even more impressive is the time and effort Jim puts back into the community. Like Jim, the team here at 22Dollars believes in the importance of giving back to help out those in need. It was because of our recent donation to the Arc of Monroe Foundation that we came in contact with Jim and he was kind enough to offer a round of golf at the home of the 85th PGA Championship - Oak Hill Country Club (East course). A course that has been continually recognized as one of America&8217;s top 20 golf courses.

It&8217;s the hardest, fairest golf course we&8217;ve ever played. Carnoustie wasn&8217;t fair that year. But this is by far the hardest. I mean, the wind hasn&8217;t blown yet, and if &8212; we&8217;ve gotten kind of lucky. If it would have blown around this golf course, over par would have won this tournament easily. still might, you never know.

Oak Hill has been ranked for the past 43 years in America&8217;s list of 100 Greatest Tests of Golf, America&8217;s 200 Toughest Courses and America&8217;s 100 Greatest Golf Courses including being ranked as high as 10th in America. It is truly a gem of a course for anyone lucky enough to get on.

More importantly was our reason for being out there. That reason was to support the Arc of Monroe Foundation. A foundation that offers a variety of services designed to increase independence and self-sufficiency, and enhance the quality of life and self esteem of program participants by providing them with meaningful social development, employment, community living, and enrichment opportunities.

The donation was made in memory of the late Gary Binsack (uncle Gary), who spent a good portion of his life (almost 30 years) working for the Arc before his passing. It was because of the Arc that uncle Gary was able to live such a long and full life and that is something we are deeply grateful for. The team here at 22Dollars is proud to be able to give back to the community like this and we hope many of our readers will follow suite. A wise man once told me, you need to give a little to get a little.
